Inkwell Fan & Vernal Umbrella PvP Build
- High Damage
- Easy to Play
- Great Range
- Good Utility
- Somewhat clunky
- Squishy
Overview
As one of the only pure Ranged DPS in the game, this build remains very squishy and can prove challenging for a new player that has yet to learn what other weapons do and how to defend against them. However, in the hands of a more experienced player, the
Inkwell Fan combining with the
Vernal Umbrella is a very powerful combo, performing particularly well when in a group setting, in the Perception Forest or in guild pvp fights. The usefulness of
Jadewind Shield cannot be denied as it helps funnel enemies while also blocking many movement skills that otherwise would catch many allies or yourself out of position. Playing around
Jadewind Shield and using it to shoot through is an essential skill for this build but don't forget that
Jadewind Shield also boosts your projectile damage!
Martial Arts
Inner Way
Being a glasscannon build, the
Morale Chant is one of the best Inner Ways you can choose. Another important Inner Way is the
Blossom Barrage which not only adds an extra charge to your
Spring Sorrow but also increases the damage their receive from your attacks. This is very important as it doubles your stun potential and this is your main way of catching players out of position before going in to combo or airjuggle them.
Trapped Beast is used as a defensive Inner Way to help stay alive when you are being focused, giving friendly players time to heal you back up before going down.
Mystic Skills
Leaping Toad a good choice to knock people down with low vitality cost. Another good CC skill is the
Talon Strike, being able to use this to get enemies off you again before either backing off or pushing in.
Soaring Spin does great damage but also reduces healing received.
Cloud Steps combos perfectly into
Guardian Palm to deal damage as it is quite difficult to defend against most of the time as long you wait for the enemy to be slowed or exhausted.
Golden Body is a strong defensive on need to help with living through combos. Lastly, the
Serene Breeze is an obvious choice for all PVP content in Where Winds Meet.
Rotations
- While not being the most difficult rotation by any means, it is still very potent. Begin by putting up a
Jadewind Shield so you have something to kite around and also blocks enemy ranged attacks. Swap to your
Vernal Umbrella then hold down
Spring Away to deal damage from range. Use
Spring Sorrow to stun the enemy if needed before using
Jadewind Shield to reposition and deal damage again in the same way.
- Begin with
Soaring Spin
Peak's Springless Silence to knock an enemy into the air before following up with
Moon Shatter Spring then straight into
Free Morph for even more damage.
Make sure that you use
Serene Breeze when you are locked in a CC as this is your main way of coming back and out of combos. There are many situations you might end up killed if you don't make use of this.
