Overview

Power mirage offers great burst damage. It has access to plentiful utility, including invulnerability, blocks and teleports, making it a great solo build.

This build revolves around the spear's Ambush skill Fractured Glass which, thanks to Mirage Mantle, will provide you with a 25% damage increase for 10 seconds from Sharp Edges Sharp Edges. Unfortunately, this means that power mirage is much worse if you do not have access to land spear with Janthir Wilds.

As a downside, this build has very litle access to boons.

Weapon Variants

Alternative weapons:

  • Mainhand sword Mainhand sword - replaces dagger for players without Secrets of the Obscure. It deals less damage but it has a helpful evade.
  • Focus Focus or Greatsword Greatsword - replaces spear for players without Janthir Wilds. Focus has decent damage, extremely helpful pull with Temporal Curtain and the phantasm blocks projectiles, while greatsword deals ranged damage and has great tagging potential and requires Bountiful Blades.

Skill Variants

Heal skill

We default to False Oasis for the extra Mirage Cloak. Another option can be considered:

  • Ether Feast - in rare situations where you'd like to trade damage for extra healing or condition cleanse, use Ether Feast.

Utility skill

We default to:
Illusionary Ambush is a good source of damagee with its extra Mirage Cloak.
Crystal Sands is a good source of damagee with its extra Mirage Cloak.
Mantra of Pain is extra damage with no cast time.
If you want or need to run other skills, here are some suggestions:

  • Mantra of Resolve - condition cleanse for yourself and nearby allies.
  • Feedback - projectile reflection.
  • Mantra of Concentration - personal stunbreak and AoE stability.
  • Portal Entre - utility for teleporting to previous places.

Elite skill

We default to Signet of Humility as it provides excellent CC on a short cooldown. If required, it can be replaced by:

  • Time Warp - brief burst of Quickness Quickness but it has a ridiculously long cooldown for what it does.

  • Elusive Mind - alternative to Infinite Horizon. Both traits offer similar damage, chose whichever you like best.
  • Bountiful Blades - if using greatsword because you don't have access to spear.

  • If you don't have access to land spear with Janthir Wilds, replace it with Focus Focus or Greatsword Greatsword, but your damage will be greatly reduced without access to Sharp Edges Sharp Edges.
  • If you don't have access to dagger from End of Dragon's virtuoso with Weaponmaster Training from Secrets of the Obscure, replace it with mainhand sword mainhand sword.
  • Sigil of Superior Sigil of Energy can be considered for open world, but it deals less damage than Force+Accuracy.
  • You can use Relic of Zakiros to trade a minor amount of damage for sustain, Relic of the Cavalier to start combat with boons, or Relic of Durability for a little extra defense.
  • For defense, equip the highest tier Jade Core you can afford. Use defensive food, traits, or skills if required. If necessary, use Knight Knight trinkets.

Usage

Mirage Cloak

Mirage Cloak is the profession mechanic of the mirage. Whenever you dodge or pick up a Mirage Mirror, you enter Mirage Cloak for 0,75 seconds, dodging incoming attacks. You also gain access to Ambush skills for 1,5 seconds, which replace your first weapon skill. Mirage Cloak does not have a cast time, allowing mirages to dodge at any time, such as when casting a skill, when reviving someone, but cannot be used while under the effects of hard crowd control or immobilization.

Sharp Edges

24px Shard Edges is a buff that you get when hitting with Fractured Glass thanks to Mirage Mantle. It increases your damage by 25% for 10 seconds, a very powerful buff. You want to maintain permanent uptime of this buff. Since it lasts 10 seconds, it will remain active while you weapon swap to your second weapon set, but return to spear as soon as possible.

If you don't have access to land spear with Janthir Wilds, your damage potential will considerably reduced.

Dagger/Sword

On dagger/sword you want to spam all your skills except Illusionary Riposte which should be saved for blocking.

If using sword instead of dagger, Illusionary Leap deals no damage and should only be used if you're missing a third clone before shattering.

Spear

On spear, try to always hit your target with the outer edge of Mind the Gap to deal more damage, if you hit with both the outer and inner halves it will count as an outer edge hit, so it's easy to always deal empowered damage. Hitting with Mind the Gap gives you "Clarity", which empowers your next spear skill. You want to always cast Phantasmal Lancer empowered by Clarity. Imaginary Inversion should be saved for an extra dodge or to cleanse conditions.

If using greatsword instead of spear, use all skills but save Illusionary Wave for defiance bars.

Damage

Work in progress.
  • Try to always hit your target with the outer edge of Mind the Gap to deal more damage.
  • Each sword loop starts and ends with Phantasmal Swordsman.
  • Bladecall and Unstable Bladestorm should be cast off cooldown.

Defense

  • Never stop moving, get out of enemy attacks or dodge them.
  • Clones and phantasms will tank some hits for you.
  • Imaginary Inversion is an extra dodge, heals and cleanses conditions.
  • When using sword, Blurred Frenzy dodges incoming attacks for 1 second. Use this to avoid attacks instead of dodging.
  • Illusionary Riposte is a block plus evade.
  • If you need condition cleanse, slot Mantra of Resolve.
  • Distortion makes you immune to damage.

Crowd Control

  • Signet of Humility
  • Illusionary Riposte Counter Blade - daze daze.
  • Time Sink - daze daze.
  • Mental Collapse - Stun Stun if used with Clarity.
