The full loop after the opener is as follows:
* When you swap to {{Skill|Legendary Renegade Stance|label}} you should immediately cast {{Skill|Icerazor's Ire}}.
+
: '''Assassin/Sword Loop''' {{to}} '''Renegade/Greatsword Loop 1''' {{to}} '''Assassin/Sword Loop''' {{to}} '''Renegade/Greatsword Loop 2''' {{to}} Repeat
* You will likely have large amounts of energy available to cast your DPS skills while on renegade stance.

** Make sure to get a second cast of {{Skill|Icerazor's Ire}} in before swapping legends.

** You don't need to use any other renegade skills, so the enhanced effect from {{Skill|Icerazor's Ire}} can be used on {{skill|Breakrazor's Bastion}} for extra boons and to slightly increase the uptime of {{trait|All for One}}.

===General Usage===
* When you swap to {{Skill|Legendary Assassin Stance|label}} you should immediately begin channeling {{Skill|Impossible Odds}}, only ending the upkeep when you swap legends.
+
* 23% of your crit chance comes from having full endurance (via {{trait|Brutal Momentum}}), so try to avoid dodging if you can.
* While in Assassin Stance you will have more energy to work with and so can cast DPS skills more freely, however be careful not to spend too much energy and be forced to delay a {{Skill|Orders from Above}} or lose {{Skill|Impossible Odds}}
+
** Both weapon sets have active defense - {{skill|Unrelenting Assault}} on '''Sword''' and {{skill|Imperial Guard}} on '''Greatsword'''.
 +
* Use {{skill|Citadel Bombardment}} off cooldown - if it is not available during a loop, use {{skill|Orders from Above}} instead to ensure you get below the energy threshhold for {{trait|Charged Mists}}.

* {{Skill|Surge of the Mists}} should be your primary CC skill and against large hitbox targets or enemies against a wall it is one of the strongest CC skills in the game. Overview

A power DPS build for Renegade featuring impressive burst that scales well with hitbox size, along with a small amount of incidental boon support and healing. It can also trade DPS for extra utility.

The fully melee requirement, fast pace and energy management make it a rather difficult build to play, and it also loses a lot of damage if forced to dodge.

  • Players without Secrets of the Obscure don't have a strong second weapon set for DPS, so Greatsword can be replaced with Staff for access to more CC.

Utility

Usage

You can use Razorclaw's Rage instead of Darkrazor's Daring. This is slightly higher damage, but the difference is so small that you can choose whichever you prefer. Darkrazor's Daring is used as default as access to CC is generally useful, particularly in fractal encounters that start with breakbars. Razorclaw's Rage is preferable on encounters with boon corruption, as the AoE Stability Stability can be corrupted into Fear Fear.

If using Razorclaw's Rage, you should use the Blood Fury trait.

Rotation

Start on Legendary Renegade Stance and Greatsword

Opener

  1. Eternity's Requiem
  2. Icerazor's Ire
  3. Darkrazor's Daring - this will be instant cast thanks to being Enhanced by the previous skill
  4. Weapon Swap Weapon Swap
  5. Legendary Assassin Stance
  6. Citadel Bombardment

Assassin/Sword Loop

The positioning of Chilling Isolation and Shackling Wave is flexible and can be adjusted to line up with Exposed Exposed, for example.

  1. Chilling Isolation
  2. Preparation Thrust Brutal Blade Rift Slash
  3. Impossible Odds
  4. Preparation Thrust Brutal Blade Rift Slash x2
  5. Chilling Isolation
  6. Shackling Wave
  7. Deathstrike
  8. Preparation Thrust Brutal Blade Rift Slash x2
  9. Chilling Isolation
  10. Weapon Swap Weapon Swap
  11. Legendary Renegade Stance

Renegade/Greatsword Loop 1

In this section you want to use Mist Unleashed and/or Phantom's Onslaught a total of four times. Mist Unleashed is higher priority, but depending on when Citadel Bombardment comes off cooldown it can be better to replace one with Phantom's Onslaught. The goal is to get complete auto chains off without delaying important skills.

  1. Eternity's Requiem
  2. Mist Unleashed
  3. Icerazor's Ire
  4. Breakrazor's Bastion
  5. Autoattack, and use Mist Unleashed as it becomes available - try not to interrupt your auto chains
  6. Icerazor's Ire
  7. Mist Unleashed
  8. Eternity's Requiem
  9. Darkrazor's Daring - this will be instant cast thanks to being Enhanced by the Icerazor's Ire
  10. Legendary Assassin Stance
  11. Weapon Swap Weapon Swap
  12. Return to start of Assassin/Sword Loop

Renegade/Greatsword Loop 2

If you're fast enough, Eternity's Requiem won't be immediately available the second time you swap to Greatsword so you do a shorter loop.

Breakrazor's Bastion is used to improve All for One uptime.

  1. Icerazor's Ire
  2. Mist Unleashed
  3. Eternity's Requiem
  4. Phantom's Onslaught
  5. Breakrazor's Bastion - this will be instant cast thanks to being Enhanced by the Icerazor's Ire
  6. Autoattack, and use Mist Unleashed as it becomes available
  7. Mist Unleashed - you should use this three times per loop
  8. Phantom's Onslaught
  9. Icerazor's Ire
  10. Weapon Swap Weapon Swap
  11. Legendary Assassin Stance
  12. Return to start of Assassin/Sword Loop

The full loop after the opener is as follows:

Assassin/Sword Loop Renegade/Greatsword Loop 1 Assassin/Sword Loop Renegade/Greatsword Loop 2 Repeat

General Usage

  • 23% of your crit chance comes from having full endurance (via Brutal Momentum), so try to avoid dodging if you can.
    • Both weapon sets have active defense - Unrelenting Assault on Sword and Imperial Guard on Greatsword.
  • Use Citadel Bombardment off cooldown - if it is not available during a loop, use Orders from Above instead to ensure you get below the energy threshhold for Charged Mists.
  • Your main DPS skills are Citadel Bombardment along with Chilling Isolation, Shackling Wave and Deathstrike (on sword), and Mist Unleashed, Phantom's Onslaught and Eternity's Requiem (on greatsword).
  • When you're not casting skills make sure you're consistently auto-attacking the boss, being careful not to interrupt the chain as the damage is heavily back-loaded.

Break bars

Due to their large energy costs (or requirement to swap to staff) all of this build's CC options will result in a large drop-off in your DPS. However, they are all powerful AoE control effects so they can be used to rescue your group from dangerous situations.

  • Surge of the Mists (only if using Staff) is one of the strongest CC skills in the game. If possible, step back from the target slightly before casting this to maximize the impacts that land on the boss. Be careful using this skill near the edges of platforms, such as on Xera or the final boss of the Chaos fractal as the forced movement can send you over the edge.
  • Darkrazor's Daring outputs a large amount of breakbar damage, though be aware that you have to stay within 600 units for the skill to function so you can't move away if cast at max range.
  • Jade Winds should be used only as a last resort due to the large energy cost for relatively low CC output compared to your other options.
