Daredevil - Power Daredevil

The community gave this build a rating, making it top-tier: Great

Focused on: Strike damage

Designed for: Open World and Open World General

Expansions required: Heart of Thorns builds

Difficulty:
Easy

This build was last updated on July 05, 2026 and is up to date for the June 2, 2026 patch.

Overview

Power Daredevil is a very acrobatic build that uses its offensive evade Bound to both dodge and damage enemies. It has good AoE burst and sustained damage, and evades often.

As a downside, it lacks ranged damage but has ways to close the distance such as Steal, and lacks boon generation.

Weapon variants

  • We default to Staff Staff against groups of enemies, and Dagger Dagger+Dagger Dagger against single targets.

Skill Variants

Heal skill

We default to Channeled Vigor as it provides both decent healing and recovers endurance, making it a good all-around healing skill. But other alternatives can be considered.

  • Withdraw - provides less healing but it is an evade and mobility skill.
  • Signet of Malice - provides almost no burst healing in exchange for constant sustain if you can keep hitting enemies.
  • Hide in Shadows - defensive heal that provides Stealth Stealth to access the CC stealth attack Hook Strike.

Utility skill

We default to:
Fist Flurry for its excellent damage. Never replace it.
Impairing Daggers for its decent damage and crowd control. Can be replaced if needed.
For the final slot, we suggest Haste for an offensive stun break, but other options can be considered:

  • Bandit's Defense - stun break into a channelled block into crowd control if you block something.
  • Shadowstep - alternative stun break that grants mobility and condition cleanse.
  • Smoke Screen - blinds enemies and blocks projectiles.
  • Shadow Refuge - to escape from enemies or stealth past them.
  • Signet of Agility - can be considered if conditions are a problem.

Elite skill

We deafult to Dagger Storm for its relatively short cooldown evade and decent damage against groups. It can be replaced by:

  • Basilisk Venom - grants significant defiance bar damage, nearby allies also gain the effect.
  • Thieves Guild - more damage on a longer cooldown, ideal for fighting tough enemies like hero point challenges.

Specializations

Variants
  • Invigorating Precision - provides some sustain but you lose permanent Fury generation.
  • Escapist's Fortitude - if condition cleanse is severely needed.

Equipment

Ascended gear and stat infusions are not required; you can use exotic gear with the same stats.
This set uses gear similar to Build:Daredevil_-_Power_DPS, making it excellent for general PVE

Relic

If you are gearing this character from zero, start with exotic quality gear. Search the trading post for "Nika" armor. Then search for the weapons you want to use: "Deathwish" staff, "Usoku's Needle" dagger, "Shattered Short Bow" shortbow. Upgrade to ascended gear as you progress. See also: Guide:How to Gear a Character.

  • For Relic alternatives, you can consider Relic of Zakiros to trade a minor amount of damage for sustain.
  • For defense, equip the highest tier Jade Core you can afford.

Consumables

Budget consumables are acceptable for use in open world.

Usage

Damage

  • Dodge often with Bound to maintain a high uptime of Bounding Dodger for extra damage.
  • Ensure you never have full endurace to benefit from Havoc Specialist.
    • Remember that Steal gives you one dodge back due to Endurance Thief.
    • Likewise, Physical skills (like Fist Flurry) give endurance thanks to Brawler's Tenacity. Channeled Vigor with this trait gives back 90 endurance, almost enough for two dodges.
  • Spam Weakening Charge after dodging vs. groups of 3 or less enemies.
  • Spam Vault after dodging vs. groups of 4 or more enemies.
  • Use Cloak and Dagger into Backstab against single targets. Repeat once Revealed Revealed wears off.
  • Fill with Auto-attacks. Wit staff, try to never interrupt the attack chain as the third auto attack deals higher damage.
Opener

Against bosses and other durable enemies, try to follow this opener:

  1. Bound to enable Bounding Dodger and Havoc Specialist.
  2. Haste
  3. Weakening Charge
  4. Fist Flurry
  5. Weakening Charge
  6. Palm Strike
  7. Bound
  8. Weakening Charge

Essentially, you want to use Weakening Charge and Fist Flurry while under the buff of Bounding Dodger and Havoc Specialist. If using dagger, always use Backstab under the effect of these buffs.

Defense

This build's defense is centered around evading damage rather than absorbing it.

  • Your dodge is part of your damage rotation.
  • Vault makes you evade attacks for 0.5 seconds.
  • Channeled Vigor will refill endurance, almost enough for two dodges.
  • Dust Strike is an area blind and reflects projectiles.
  • Long-lasting stealth can be used to channel hero points or sneak through otherwise dangerous places. If Shadow Refuge is not enough, blast stealth. To do this, equip a shortbow, place a Smoke Screen, then spam Cluster Bomb in the smoke field. (See: Guide:What are Combo Fields)
  • If you require more sustain, consider using Invigorating Precision.

Crowd Control

  • Fist Flurry Palm Strike - stun
  • Debilitating Arc Helmet Breaker - daze
  • Consider using Basilisk Venom if you need more crowd control. Nearby allies will also gain the venom effect.

Power Daredevil is a hyper-mobile, high DPS build that is incredibly versatile. It's capable of performing well both when solo and in farm zergs. Additionally, when it comes to tagging in events such as the Mad King's Labyrinth, this build is easily the best in the game at it (tied with Greatsword Mirage).
