This build is up to date for the March 14, 2025 patch.
Overview
Longbow and Sword build for large-scale PvP which is perfect for newer players that want to get involved in large-scale PvP as its very easy to play and generally cannot harm a zerg by being played badly. It's role is to help the zerg by providing defensive buffs and by pulling enemy players that are out of position into the reach of your team while you remain relatively protected. This build provides much needed AOE CC through the use of
Arrow Vortex and can even deal decent damage with
Flash Arrow.

Perception
With the unique stats and attributes system in Throne and Liberty, it can be difficult to determine exactly where to invest your attribute points at each stage of the game. This is because gear pieces provide attributes just like leveling up does, meaning everyone will have a different number of attribute points depending on what gear they are wearing at the time.
Given this variation, it's best to reset your attributes regularly to adjust to the new gear you acquire. Aim to reach the achievement effects, which provide extra benefits at milestones like 30, 50, and 70 points.
With this build, your primary attribute focus should be strength and dexterity, as they provide high max HP and boost your defensive stats, improving your resistance to ranged, magic, and melee attacks, along with enhancing health regeneration. Your secondary focus should be on wisdom and perception, which increase your cooldown speed and damage output, while also improving your ability to heal both yourself and your party members.
Skills
The Longbow abilities are your main damage and CC source that greatly helps a zerg.
Arrow Vortex is your main CC skill and should be upgraded quickly while
Flash Arrow &
Brutal Arrow deal great damage and can be reset through the use of
Blitz, allowing you to use them twice in a row but you should always prioritize using
Flash Arrow as it deals high damage in a wide AOE directly in front of you.
Annihilating Slash, is one of your DPS sword abilities and works as a great filled ability once you've pulled enemies in with
Chain Hook and debuffed them with
Shield Strike!

Counter Barrier stands out as your most crucial defensive ability. Upgrading it quickly is strongly advised, as it enables you to counter both ranged and magic attacks effectively.
Immortal Pride and
Stalwart Bastion are both great defensive skills too and they can be used before fights in order to boost your entire party's survivability.
Regarding passives, this build incorporates several defensives as being alive remains the main goal of this build.
Distorted Sanctuary and
Devoted Shield provide great survivability and should be upgraded early, especially as
Devoted Shield offers great EHP (effective HP) and an extra massive shield whenever your health falls under 30%, placing a 6500 HP shield on you.
Skillful Evasion comes into play whenever you are near an enemy and is nice to have!
The
Resilient Mind passive serves as your core passive, enhancing your mana sustain, while
Impenetrable boosts your defense depending on the number of enemies surrounding you. This works seamlessly with
Aegis Shield, which further increases your defenses based on your shield block chance. This is why it's essential to prioritize acquiring swords with a high shield block chance.

These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.

This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.

While runes can be applied to different types of gear, you should make sure that you invest into the gear pieces that you plan on using for a long time. However, if the build you are using uses the same items between Mid Game and End Game, you can invest into adding runes to them as early as you get the items.
This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like
Tevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

Longbow

You should be aiming to reach and unlock masteries (the corner nodes) as soon as possible as they usually make the largest impact in the build. While minor nodes shouldn't be forgotten, make sure to unlock masteries as fast as possible before spreading out and spending into less important nodes.

Rotations
AOE CC + AOE Burst Damage ↴
- This rotation is used to both CC and deal high AOE damage in quick succession while the enemy zerg is caught by your

Arrow Vortex. Buff yourself up with
Counter Barrier, improving your defenses for a short duration. Continue through with your frontline then use
Arrow Vortex to throw enemies into the air before you channel
Flash Arrow to deliver high AOE damage to those you caught. Reset the
Flash Arrow cooldown with
Blitz then use it again to clean up the remaining enemies. Use
Brutal Arrow if you find a group of stacked enemies too!
- This rotation is aimed to fully CC a large group of enemies. Move to the frontline and use

Chain Hook to pull and root enemies in front of you before resetting its cooldown and using it again followed by
Arrow Vortex to pop enemies into the air and keep them CC'd for your party.

Strategic Rush: Use this as your main movement ability allowing you to push deep into the enemy line and also activate the
Morale Boost to lower cooldowns.

Counter Barrier: Activate this skill when you begin to draw focused attention. Utilize your defense skill to reflect damage when you're under pressure or when an engagement doesn't go as planned.

Stalwart Bastion: Use this ability when initiating a push with your team or when being pushed by the enemy. It's usually requested by your shotcaller, but you can also initiate it yourself if your shotcaller doesn't issue the command.

Brutal Arrow: One of your AOE DPS skills. Try to use this whenever you see a group of enemies pulled together. You can pair it well with
Blitz unless you used it already for resetting
Flash Arrow as that takes priority.
