This build is up to date for the September 23, 2025 patch.
Overview
This Sword and Wand PvE build is specifically designed for tanking in PvE group dungeons. It excels at staying alive while effectively holding the aggro of both mobs and bosses. The use of Wand allows this build to heal itself and allies making certain dungeons possible without a healer if they die during the boss fight.
Attributes
PRIMARY

Strength
+

Dexterity
SECONDARY

Wisdom
+

Perception
With the unique stats and attributes system in Throne and Liberty, it can be difficult to determine exactly where to invest your attribute points at each stage of the game. This is because gear pieces provide attributes just like leveling up does, meaning everyone will have a different number of attribute points depending on what gear they are wearing at the time.
Given this variation, it's best to reset your attributes regularly to adjust to the new gear you acquire. Aim to reach the achievement effects, which provide extra benefits at milestones like 30, 50, and 70 points.
Your attributes priority with this build should be strength and dexterity, as it grants you high max HP and improves your defensive stats, providing ranged, magic, and melee defense, as well as health regen. Your secondary priority should be wisdom and perception as they increase your cooldown speed and damage while helping you dish out better healing for both yourself and your party members.
Skills
Depending on which Dungeon/Dimensional Trial you might run, consider using
Rare Roaring Steak,
Rare Thrilling Papillote, and even
Rare Scorpion Tail Fritters to make it easier and also deal a lot more damage.
As far as main skills go,
Counter Barrier and
Shield Strike are the most important ones.
Counter Barrier greatly improves your Shield Block Chance, while
Shield Strike serves as your primary single-target aggro-holding ability. It ensures that mobs stay focused on attacking you rather than targeting the rest of your party.
Swift Healing serves as your primary single-target healing ability that also heals you for 50% of the healing you've done, while
Touch of Despair is ideal for steadily applying dot damage during boss fights or against mobs and it pairs well with
Wraith's Beckon.
This tank build also rely on its passives to improve healing though and boost healing done by
Swift Healing and
Fountain of Life and both
Devotion and Emptiness along with
Noble Revival help a great deal with your healing and should be prioritized when upgrading skills.

You should be aiming to reach and unlock masteries (the corner nodes) as soon as possible as they usually make the largest impact in the build. While minor nodes shouldn't be forgotten, make sure to unlock masteries as fast as possible before spreading out and spending into less important nodes.

Rotations
- As you approach the boss, draw the attention with melee hits to start the encounter. Immediately follow up with

Touch of Despair to apply DoT damage before engaging the boss directly. Activate
Provoking Roar and
Shield Throw to firmly establish aggro. Continue using
Shield Strike on cooldown, alternating with
Touch of Despair, while using
A Shot at Victory for additional damage.

Stalwart Bastion: This ability functions as your panic button when you're taking excessive damage and your passive skills aren't enough to sustain you. It's also the ability you use when the boss casts a high-damage spell, and it's recommended that your party members gather close to benefit from its protective effect.

Provoking Roar: Your sole AoE taunt ability, you should reserve this for drawing the attention of multiple smaller enemies, typically appearing as ads during boss encounters or as trash mobs before reaching bosses.

Invincible Wall: Another ability that can serve as a panic button or boost your health to survive boss damage that would otherwise be fatal or to save those near you from certain boss mechanics that would otherwise wipe the party.

Blessed Barrier: This spell gives you another shield on demand along with giving you a massive increase in your defenses for 6 seconds and can be used on other party members as any healing received by a shielded player is also increased.

Swift Healing: This is your primary healing ability for yourself or party members. However, exercise caution, as the second cast consumes significantly more mana.

Clay's Salvation: This is your AoE healing ability. Try to use it whenever your group mates are close together so the AoE heal can reach all of them.

Fountain of Life:
You should use this ability on cooldown for yourself if your healer isn't keeping up with healing you. Place the AoE in the position where you tank the boss to receive constant healing. Other party members can move in to receive the heal if needed, but you should prioritize using it for yourself.
Useful Information
- Select Lady Knight Kamarshea as your guardian; it provides essential protection with its shield, capable of absorbing damage equal to 50% of your mana. This not only aids in mitigating damage but also increases your cooldown speed, assisting in holding aggro and ensuring your survival.
