This build is up to date for the August 23, 2025 patch.
Overview
This Staff and Dagger build focuses on large scale PVP, performing well as a mobile range DPS capable of dealing high damage in bursts through the use of both
Serial Fire Bombs and
Infernal Meteor. The build remains relatively difficult to pull off as positioning is very important, proving to be a challenge for players looking for a challenge.
Attributes
PRIMARY

Dexterity
+

Perception
SECONDARY

Strength
+

Wisdom
With the unique stats and attributes system in Throne and Liberty, it can be difficult to determine exactly where to invest your attribute points at each stage of the game. This is because gear pieces provide attributes just like leveling up does, meaning everyone will have a different number of attribute points depending on what gear they are wearing at the time.
Given this variation, it's best to reset your attributes regularly to adjust to the new gear you acquire. Aim to reach the achievement effects, which provide extra benefits at milestones like 30, 50, and 70 points.
To make this build work well, it's important to focus on dealing as much damage as possible. Dexterity and Perception are the key stats to improve. Putting points into these will greatly boost your damage, helping you perform well in every fight. You can also put some points into Wisdom for more mana regeneration to keep going longer, but the main goal should be boosting damage with Dexterity and Perception. Don't forget to put 30 points into Strength too, as it gives you extra health.
Skills
In terms of skills, your main damage will be coming from your
Judgment Lightning,
Serial Fire Bombs and
Infernal Meteor as they all deal high AOE burst damage throughout large scale PVP fights while also applying burns which trigger Infernal Aftermath from masteries, with
Infernal Meteor also decreasing the healing received by targets hit by the
Infernal Meteor. These are the first skills you should get to purple alongside
Inferno Wave and
Chain Lightning. Do not understimate the strength of
Frost Smokescreen either as the fire variant applies burn damage to targets, and if you have a Bellendirs staff, this will proc its passive.
As far as passives go, you should focus on upgrading
Flame Condensation for additional damage.
Assassin's Instincts for extra crit rate and
Shadow Walker as a defensive skill that can be triggered at any time by simply using your
Block Blade (you don't have to actually roll to the side to activate this, just pressing your block is enough). It also activates whenever you use
Shadow Strike. One less known way of activating it is by channeling and canceling
Frost Smokescreen.

These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.

This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.

While runes can be applied to different types of gear, you should make sure that you invest into the gear pieces that you plan on using for a long time. However, if the build you are using uses the same items between Mid Game and End Game, you can invest into adding runes to them as early as you get the items.
This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like
Tevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

Dagger

You should be aiming to reach and unlock masteries (the corner nodes) as soon as possible as they usually make the largest impact in the build. While minor nodes shouldn't be forgotten, make sure to unlock masteries as fast as possible before spreading out and spending into less important nodes.

Rotations
- This rotation will maximize the damage you do when bombing. Start with using

Block Blade to boost your endurance and activate your passive
Shadow Walker. You can also use an Attack Remedy to further boost your burst damage. Make sure to follow up quickly with
Infernal Meteor before following up with
Inferno Wave (2 times if you get the proc) and
Chain Lightning to spread some AOE damage on the clump.
- If you are still in a good position, you can follow up by using

Block Blade again and then bursting with
Judgment Lightning, spreading your damage across enemies that might still be clumped up together. This second part of the rotation can also be used on its own.
- Similar to the Meteor Bombing Rotation, this one is aimed to deal high AOE damage but can be pulled off easier as you can continue moving while channeling

Serial Fire Bombs.
- Start by buffing with

Block Blade to boost endurance rate and catching a group of enemies with
Icebound Tomb before using
Serial Fire Bombs on a enemy that is stacked in a group. Follow with
Inferno Wave on the same target to spread burn and poison stacks on all nearby enemies before using
Chain Lightning to spread damage across the clump of enemies.
Judgment Lightning AOE Burst ↴
- This is your easiest rotation to do and it deals good damage too! Begin with using

Block Blade to increase endurance rate and make it more difficult for enemies to hit you while channeling
Judgment Lightning followed by another on the same target. Make sure you pick a target that is close to other enemies so the lightning hits multiple players. Follow up with a quick mix of
Inferno Wave and
Chain Lightning to finish off the rotation and do some good damage on your targets.

High Focus: You should use this ability regularly to increase your hit rate and also improve your evasion! This helps a lot with survival and dealing damage, piercing through enemy magic evasion.
You can use
Camouflage Cloak before your AOE burst rotation to position yourself for the burst. This ability remains one of your most versatile skills though, especially for repositioning or getting away from lost fights.

Frost Smokescreen: This is your main Burn spreading skill, cast it on its own in clumps or in the path of enemies to apply burns and slow them down, it works best with a Bellendir Staff though!

Phantom Smokescreen: Use this skill to protect yourself from crossbows jumping into your group. Use this instantly as you are being targeted or if a crossbow is attacking near you. You can also use this as part of your bombing combo to deny range damage.
Useful Information
- Select Lady Knight Kamarshea as your guardian; it provides essential protection with its shield, capable of absorbing damage equal to 50% of your mana. This not only aids in mitigating damage but also increases your cooldown speed in order to let you heal more often.
